END GRAIN WOOD

What is “end grain wood”?

The cutting board integrated in our blocks is made of “end grain” wood: vertically-assembled lumber, in the direction of its grain, which provides great resistance to the impact of sharp blades, making it a durable and hygienic ally for your kitchen.

In keeping with tradition, our “end grain” wood is made from solid French hornbeam.

How to maintain my wood?

We recommend regular oiling of the end grain to nourish the fiber with oil compatible with food contact. Leave on for around eight hours, then absorb excess oil. (It is normal for the end grain to stain).

For daily use, wipe with a clean, slightly damp sponge, then with a soft, dry cloth. Do not machine-wash.

What mistakes should I avoid to preserve my furniture?

– No direct contact with hot utensils.

– Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and heat.

– Sudden changes in temperature and low humidity can cause warping and cracking.
